Fine Lines & Wrinkles

Fine lines can appear at any age. Some people get fine lines in their 20s and some reach middle age before any fine lines appear. These fine lines and wrinkles form because of a variety of things including sun damage, gravity, surgery, acne, and smoking.

There are four classifications of fine lines and wrinkles –

  1. Mild – There are a few wrinkles or fine lines that require very little makeup to cover.
  2. Moderate – The early signs of wrinkles, requiring a bit more makeup to cover up.
  3. Advanced – The wrinkling is more persistent and requires specialised makeup to cover them up.
  4. Severe – Fine lines show up all over the face. Wrinkles and furrows are also visible. Makeup is not sufficient to cover.

Using a good moisturiser can help prevent fine lines and wrinkles. The best results you get will be from taking prescription Retinoids. They increase the cell turnover deep within the dermis. Chemical peels can help improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Dermabrasion can also be done, as well as laser resurfacing.

It is always a good idea to start preventative measures as early as possible, but it is also never too late to start.
